Platteville man faces battery, bail jumping charges

A 25-year-old Platteville man faces charges of battery and felony and misdemeanor bail jumping after he was arrested July 24.

Julius Raymone Schaeffer was arrested by Platteville police after a woman reported to police that her boyfriend had hit her while they were in a car.

Schaeffer was free on $500 bond after he was arrested May 28 on charges of disorderly conduct and battery. Schaeffer was also arrested May 15 on charges of party to theft of up to $2,500, battery, party to burglary, disorderly conduct and felony bail jumping. A status conference on those charges is set for Aug. 14.

Schaeffer was scheduled to appear in court this week on the new charges.
