PLATTEVILLE — Platteville and UW–Platteville police are investigating an attempted strong-arm robbery on campus Saturday night.

According to two UW–Platteville employees, two black males approached them on the sidewalk north of Ullsvik Hall and demanded money.

The suspects claimed they had a gun, although no gun was ever observed, according to police.

The subjects did push one of the victims to the ground in an apparent attempt to take money. After an altercation the suspects fled without taking any money. The victims were not injured.

The suspects may have driven off in an SUV parked in UWP Parking Lot 2 across from Ullsvik Hall.

University police are asking for assistance from anyone who may have witnessed any suspicious activity that evening, by calling 342-1584.
