Suspect arrested in Gotham burglary case

Richland County Sheriff Jim Bindl reports that, on December 15, Richland County deputies responded to an alarm at DJ’s Kwik Stop on Gotham. Evidence gathered at the scene led to the arrest of Patrick Bass, 25, of Lone Rock.

Sheriff Bindl reports that Richland County Dispatch received a call from an alarm company indicating that an alarm had been tripped at the Gotham convenience store. Two deputies responded to the scene, secured the building and identified numerous pieces of evidence.

Lt. Bob Frank responded to the scene to assist the deputies and help collect the evidence items used to identify Bass as a suspect in the case. 

Two deputies made contact with Bass on December 17 and arrested him. Bass is tentatively charged with burglary, retail theft and felony bail jumping.

 

Sheriff Bindl states, “The deputies did a good job putting this case together. We used our resources, including Sgt. Dane Kanable and K9 Titan.”
