Two arrested in La Farge meth lab bust
A drug investigation is ongoing

Vernon County Sheriff John Spears and La Farge Police Chief Benjamin Bakken report two people were arrested March 31 as part of an ongoing drug investigation.

Authorities took Tasha Bingham, 33, and Matthew Lecher, 43, into custody prior to executing a search warrant at a home in the 200 block of N. State St. in La Farge.

The Vernon County Combined Tactical Unit executed the warrant. Materials used to manufacture methamphetamine were seized.

The Vernon County Hazardous Materials Response Team assisted in clearing hazardous materials from the meth lab.

Both Bingham and Lecher were transported to the Vernon County Detention Center awaiting their bond hearing. Lecher is currently on probation.

Assisting at the scene were the West Central Metropolitan Enforcement Group, Vernon County Combined Tactical Unit, Vernon County Hazardous Materials Response Team, members of the West Central MEG Unit, the La Farge Fire Department and EMS, and the Readstown Police Department.

Vernon County Crime Stoppers also played a role in the case.  It remains under investigation by the La Farge Police Department and the Vernon County Sheriff’s Office in Viroqua.
