CRAWFORD COUNTY - Crawford County crowned three young women to represent the dairy industry Saturday at their annual dairy breakfast hosted this year by Al and Kathy Flansburgh at their heifer facility outside Prairie du Chien.

Rachel Kramer, Eastman, and Caitlin Nolan, Prairie du Chien, will serve as the Crawford County Dairy Princesses. Kramer is the 16-year-old daughter of Ray and Becky Kramer. Kramer is a home-schooled sophomore. She works at Nelson True Value and is involved in the Happy Hi- Liters 4-H Club, AWANA, Wisconsin Junior Holstein Association, dairy judging and dairy quiz bowl. Kramer has shown dairy and dogs at the county and state levels.

Nolan is the 17-year-old daughter of John and Carrie Nolan. She is a junior at Prairie High School. Nolan is a member of the Prairie du Chien FFA, Eastman Cloverleaf 4-H Club, Key Club, Hawkettes Dance Team, Expressions Dance, Soccer and Holy Family J-Walkers Youth Group. Nolan helps milk the 170 cows on her family’s 1,100-acre dairy farm. She is also employed by Ritter’s Fish Market and served as Little Miss Squirt in 2011.

Rita Sime was selected as the Crawford County Little Miss Squirt. Sime is the nine-year-old daughter of Chad and Sarah Sime. She lives on an 80-cow, 240-acre dairy farm. Sime enjoys showing calves in the Farmer Bud Show at the Crawford County Fair, as well as showing off her school projects. On the farm, she helps feed calves and takes care of many cats. Rita is involved in TNT Gymnastics.

Outgoing Dairy Princess, Sarah Kearns, gave final remarks at the crowning ceremony before passing the torch to the new royalty. Kramer, Nolan and Sime will travel the county to promote dairy products among urban and rural audiences. Their schedule will include parades, local events and school visits to educate elementary students in the spring.
