Riverdale 2023 Valedictorian - Allen Maly
Allen Maly has been named 2023 Valedictorian at Riversdale High School.

MUSCODA - Allen S Maly has been named valedictorian and Gracie Elizabeth Anderson has been named salutatorian for the Riverdale High School 2023 graduating class.

Allen is the son of Jason Maly and Yolanda Maly of Muscoda. He earned academic honors all four years of high school, will receive the Wisconsin Higher Education Aids Board Academic Excellence Scholarship, and will hold a place in the Riverdale Academic Hall of Fame with a cumulative 3.994 GPA. His Laude score of 99.85 has earned him the Valedictorian honor and the highest Summa Cum Laude distinction.

Allen participated in bell choir, pep band, drama, Leo Club and student council all four years of high school serving as president at one point of both Leo Club and student council. He served as vice president of the art club during his three year membership. Allen was also in National Honor Society and FFA for three years, jazz band and Spanish club for two years each, library, FBLA and yearbook clubs one year. SWAL Math Competition was something Allen competed in all four years of high school. He earned first place in the trigonometry section last year. In addition to all of the groups Allen took part in, he worked many hours at an after school and weekend job.

Allen plans to attend UW-Stout’s Honor College for his first few years before transferring to UW-Madison to complete his learning in the field of chemical engineering. Allen would like to give special thanks to his grandfather, Bob Maly, for all the encouragement he gave him through the years, his grandmother, Cindy Maly, for every hobby he became interested in, and the entire staff at Riverdale for granting him the educational drive needed in order to excel in his academics.

Gracie Anderson has been named 2023 Salutatorian at Riverdale High School.

Gracie Anderson

Gracie is the daughter of Jeff and Brandie Anderson of Muscoda. She has been an active, involved student while maintaining a 3.923 GPA. Gracie has earned a place in the Academic Hall of Fame and a Laude score of 98.075.

Gracie participated in choir, pep band, drama and Leo Club all four years of high school, in chamber choir for three years, GSA and Sources of Strength for two years each. Gracie was nominated to attend Dorian Vocal Festival twice (canceled once due to COVID), honors choir twice, high school choral fest once, and honors band three times. Gracie was also in the bell choir for three years and jazz band for two years and served as president during her three-year membership in the National Honor Society. She was an Executive Board member of Leo Club and has won the Monster Pep Award for pep band. Gracie has been nominated for Student of the Month three times!

Sports have also been a part of Gracie’s time in high school. She was on the Riverdale Cross Country team for four years serving as Team Captain and earning MVP and Most Dedicated. Gracie was a wrestling cheerleader for two years and baseball manager for one year. Outside of school sports, Gracie has been dancing since 7th grade and on a swim team since 6th grade.

Gracie plans to attend UW-River Falls to major in Spanish and become a Peace Corps volunteer after graduating from college. She would like to thank her parents and the teachers at Riverdale for their endless support through all the years.
