With Platteville High School teacher Jason Julius becoming Platteville Middle School principal Nov. 1, a replacement for Julius at PHS had to be hired.

The replacement will be Matt Heer, who is teaching physics at East Troy High School. Heer will replace Julius at PHS Jan. 2, after his East Troy contract ends.

The Platteville School Board Nov. 11 also chose Shane Reuter, a former PMS physical education intern who coached basketball at PMS last year, as the new PHS junior varsity boys basketball coach. The board also approved the hiring of Trevor Kattre, another former PMS intern who was an aide at Neal Wilkins Elementary Learning Center last year, as freshman assistant boys basketball coach.

The board also approved the hiring of PMS special education teacher Mary Beth Pence as PHS assistant girls basketball coach.
