DARLINGTON – The Darlington School Board of Education accepted several more donations toward the high school library at the meeting Monday night, Oct. 16.
The board members approved $1,920 in donations at the meeting, making the total donations at $12,403. In September, a motion to accept a bid for new stacks (shelving) for the newly renovated high school library failed, 4-4. With no more money wanting to be spent on the library, the board has since accepted donations from local residents and alumni. Those donations accepted at the Monday night meeting were from Laurie Fink, Robert & Jeanne Boyle, the Darlington American Legion Post 214, Ronald & Marlene Roewer, Mary Pat & Robert Vosberg, Mary Jo Finkenbinder, James & Myra Taylor, Janette Steger, Rielly Family Farms c/o Mark & Carmen Rielly, Walter & Margaret Taylor, Lee & Nita Burke, and Tim & Julie Shager.
