Platteville Middle School band 5 for 5
PMS band at cheese days

The Platteville Middle School Band, under the direction of William Sefton, finished up a highly successful marching season performing in five parades for more than 250,000 people in Southern Wisconsin, including the Cheese Days parade in Monroe. “The students work with great dedication and constantly strive for excellence,” said Sefton. Marching starts in August with a color guard and drumline camp followed by a week of intense rehearsing of music and marching fundamentals. All flag routines, percussion cadence, and music must be polished and  memorized before the Dairy Days Parade the weekend after Labor Day. Additionally, the band rehearses daily at 7 a.m., one hour before school starts. Color guard instructor is Kami Miles and drum majors are Rachel Ababio, Annessa Fox, Zoe Meir, and Alissa Stanley. “Every competition they were in, they won, as is their habit,” said Middle School Principal Lisa Finnegan.
