About 30 Seneca School District residents attended a special meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 4 held for the purpose of obtaining authorization to purchase real property.

Those in attendance spoke in favor of authorizing the school board to make a bid on a residential property that adjoins the school property and is being offered for sale. The property is a two-story house, owned by Bud and Patty Kramer, on the northwest corner of Highway 27 and Taylor Ridge Road.

A resolution authorizing the district to purchase real property was passed on a unanimous voice vote. The board then convened a special meeting to address the situation.

In a closed session, the Seneca School Board agreed on a price for sealed bid on the property. The bid is to be submitted to the Kramers.
