Ice cream social at vet clinic

The Apple Valley Veterinary’s Bi-annual Ice Cream Social will be held on Friday, Aug. 16 from 2 to 7 p.m. at the vet clinic, located at 421 Main Street in Gays Mills.

“This is an opportunity to experience the delight of the best dessert of all time – ice cream freshly made,” according to Dr. Richard Dudgeon. “The social offers over 15 flavors. If you have a recipe you like, let us know and we’ll try to make it.”

There is no charge to attend, though this year a request is being made for a free-will donation. All money collected will go to help with the cost of paying the utilities of the old Gays Mills Community Building on Main Street.

People are invited to bring cookies or something to go with ice cream for all to enjoy. There are usually plenty of good desserts to accompany the ice cream, according to Doc Dudgeon.

Even if you don’t want to bring a dessert and have no extra money for the offering, you are still urged to come and enjoy the ice cream and company.
