Southwest Health and UW–Platteville Continuing Education urge everyone who works for a living to do 90 minutes of self-indulging at a special “guest” presentation designed to boost the work performance of those in attendance and improve their personal outlook on life.

Everyone is invited to attend one of speaker Laurie Guest’s special presentations of “Life in the Espresso Lane: Seven Ways to Thrive in a Fast-Paced World,” at the UW–Platteville Ullsvik Hall Tuesday, Feb. 23 at 3 p.m. and 5:30 pm.

“The entire team of 500 plus employees and physicians at Southwest Health are on a Journey to Excellence,” said Southwest Health Staff Educator Katie Friar. “Nationally, we are already very highly ranked in customer service and quality care categories. We’re partnering with University of Wisconsin–Platteville Continuing Education to bring Laurie Guest to Platteville to further our staff’s ability to perform at the highest levels. We also want to share this remarkable presentation with as many others in our area communities as possible. That’s why we’re opening Laurie’s presentation to everyone.”

Guest is a former Chicago area health care leader and business owner who today puts her experience and insights to work as a highly sought after motivational speaker. She’s well known for delivering top notch ideas with healthy doses of motivation and laughter.

Her interactive 90-minute program offers powerful self-motivational techniques and practical tools to providing excellent service and being your best, no matter your job.

Attendees will learn:
• One simple action that will make them indispensable at work.
• What until now untold ways we can learn from mistakes.
• Behaviors that can make one positively stand out from others.
• A special approach to building relationships.
• Practical ideas for keeping your personal life in balance.
• Useful new techniques for getting your ideas accepted.

“We’re offering this at two times to be sure we can accommodate everyone who wants to attend,” said Friar.

The first 100 people through the doors at each presentation will receive a special surprise gift. Fitting its espresso theme, the event will also feature a complimentary specialty coffee bar with bakery items.

Preregistration for the event is open now at www.southwesthealth.org/espresso. Registration is encouraged but not required.
