The Platteville Area Noon Optimist Club is sponsoring the Tri-Star Soccer Skills Contest on Saturday, Oct. 12 at Legion Park.

Registration starts at 9 a.m. and the event will begin at 9:30 a.m.

Age groups this event will sponsor are 6–7, 8–9, 10–11, and 12–13. Participants should meet at the soccer field by the small parking lot of Legion Park at the corner of Pitts and Water Street.

The event will be similar to a punt-pass-kick skills competition, but will focus on soccer skills.

Skills being tested will include shooting a goal, dribbling the ball, and throwing the ball in from the sideline.

Participants will be judged based on their age group and gender. Prizes will be awarded for first, second and third places.
