at Southwest Technical College campus
Outdoor-Skills-2018-cb

The sixth annual Grant County Outdoor Skills Day will be held on Saturday, Feb. 3 from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. at the Auto/Ag Building at Southwest Tech. If you are looking for a fun way to get out of the winter doldrums and maybe experience a new recreational activity, then the 6th annual Outdoor Skills Day event may be just the ticket!

The event has activities for people of all ages to try a new outdoor skill or perhaps brush up on a hobby they already have. All-day stations include BB gun and archery ranges, fishing and fly-fishing practice casting, fly-tying, star-gazing, trapping and furs, decoys and calling, retrieving dogs, laser-shot hunting simulator, snow-shoeing, forestry management, and an Outdoor Skills Challenge course for young visitors. Additionally, there will be special seminars throughout the day on turkey hunting and turkey calling, falconry, using dogs to track game, geo-caching, muzzle-loading/black powder hunting, and beginning ice fishing.

Outdoor Skills Day is co-sponsored by the Outdoor Heritage Education Center, Southwest Tech, Southwest Tech Blue Line club and the Grant County Outdoor Sport Alliance.

Admission to this event is free and there will be a lunch stand on site, so plan on spending a few hours or even a whole day at Southwest Tech in Fennimore! For further information, please call 608-822-5547 or 608-822-6574.
