UW–Platteville will hold a special Founders Day event on the 150th anniversary of its chartering, at the Rollo Jamison Museum in Platteville Sunday at 1:30 p.m.

UW–Platteville archivist James Hibbard will be in attendance to answer questions about the university. Museum director Diana Bolander will host. Light refreshments will be served.

The official charter for what is now known as UW–Platteville was signed Feb. 28, 1866. The sesquicentennial will be celebrated at Homecoming this fall.

• UW–Platteville Chancellor Dennis Shields will host a community forum in the Municipal Building council chambers today from 5:30 to 7 p.m.

Shields will offer the state of the university address and answer questions in an open community forum.
