The City of Platteville has been named a Playful City USA for the second time.

In partnership with the Humana Foundation, KaBoom! is honoring cities, towns and counties across the country for making their communities more playable.

“This is a distinction that the entire city should celebrate,” said city recreation coordinator Luke Peters. “The selection committee looks at more than just the programs offered by the city. There are a lot of individuals and organizations that helped us to achieve this distinction by volunteering their time to make a difference. We are going to strive to continue to work with these volunteers to make Platteville more playable each year.”

Ashland and Milwaukee were named for the second consecutive year, while Bellevue, Milton and River Falls were named for the third consecutive year.

“Play provides a competitive advantage for cities looking to attract and retain residents,” said KaBoom! President James Siegal. “With these esteemed leaders, and our friends and partners across the country, we continue to prioritize play for all kids.”
