Wage & title changes passed for county clerk & clerk of court offices

The Lafayette County Board of Supervisors approved wage increases and job title changes for deputy assistant positions in the county clerk’s office as well as the clerk of court’s offices at their last meeting on Aug. 18.
    The current deputy assistant position in the county clerk’s office will be granted a wage increase of 40 cents per hour and a job title change from deputy assistant to deputy, to be effective the first pay period after being approved.
    According to the resolution’s fiscal note this increase will incur additional unbudgeted wage and fringes from Aug. 31 to Dec. 31 of approximately $350, not including overtime hours.
    Another resolution approved the refilling of a deputy assistant position in the clerk of court’s office with a job title change to deputy and a starting wage of $13.26 per hour, a one year rate of $13.94 per hour, a two year rate of $14.99 per hour and a longevity rate of $15.98 per hour, to be effective upon hire.
    According to the resolution’s fiscal note, this position will incur wage and fringes from Aug. 17 to Dec. 31 of between approximately $13,265 and $15,840, depending on the health insurance plan selected. This was included in the 2015 budget.
