It was quite a large turnout on a cold January day for the ribbon cutting ceremony for the new Grant Regional Health Care Clinic in Fennimore.
Grant Regional’s newest clinic, its fourth, officially opened here in Fennimore on Tuesday, Jan. 2.
        After a ground breaking ceremony this past April, the clinic’s construction came about quickly and on schedule.
        An official ribbon cutting ceremony was held the following day on Wednesday, Jan. 3, which had an very good turnout for a cold, brisk January day.
        The over 75 staff and community members who gathered on Wednesday for the grand opening of the new Grant Regional Health Center clinic were greeted by Lydia McLimans, Fennimore Community Development Manager, who stated that when the lot the clinic on stands on was acquired by the city, “it was the hope of Mayor Ryan Boebel that the lot would become a medical facility, and it has.”
        Next to speak was Julie Lassa, USDA State Director for Wisconsin, who referred to the clinic’s opening as “investing in Fennimore.”
        The new clinic was paid for in part through a USDA Rural Development Emergency Rural Healthcare Grant. Grant Regional Health Center received just over $530,000 for the project.
        Tom Gildersleeve, Grant Regional Health Care (GRHC) Board Chair stated he was “amazed by how quickly the clinic itself came together, going from a ground breaking in April to it’s opening Jan. 2.
        Tammy Chambers, GRHC    Interim CEO issued a “thank you to all those involved in the completion of the clinic, including staff, Midwest Builders, the city and most importantly, the patients, who have quality health care close to home.”
        The new clinic, located at 1525 Lafollette St., across from the Southwest Tech campus, will feature local care and convenience including primary care in addition to Laboratory and Radiology services on the main level that any patient or area clinic can utilize. Rehabilitation services will include Physical Therapy with a gym/treatment space.
        Family medicine providers will include Dr. David Casillas Plazola, Family Practice/Obstetrics; Dr. Ron White, Family Practice; and Brian Quick, PA-C, Family Practice. Clinic hours will be Monday through Friday 7:30 a.m. to  5 p.m.

        High Point Family Medicine, LLC (HPFM), which currently leases Grant Regional’s existing clinic building at 1255 11th Street, Fennimore, will relocate and lease a separate clinic space on the main level of Grant Regional’s new facility. “We are excited to move to the new clinic building,” said Dr. Eric Stader, who also spoke at Wednesday’s ceremony. “We are looking forward to providing quality, personal care in town, and we are glad to be set to get to work.”
.       This move will improve patients’ access to the clinic and to the added services that GRHC is offering as they continue to receive excellent care close to home.” HPFM’s family medicine providers include Dr. Eric Stader, Dr. Eric Slane, Dr. Jessica Varnam, Dr. Neil Martin and Jessica Klein, PA-C. Clinic hours will remain Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to  5 p.m.
