Man injured in cycle crash near Wildcat Mountain State Park

A Watertown man suffered non-life-threatening injuries July 27 in a motorcycle crash in Whitestown township, near Ontario.

Jesse Hoffman, 30, was taken to Gundersen-St. Joseph’s Hospital in Hillsboro following the accident.

According to a Vernon County Sheriff’s Office news release, Hoffman was driving his cycle northwest on State Hwy. 33 near the entrance to Wildcat Mountain State Park when he lost control while negotiating a curve to the left.  The motorcycle’s foot peg dug into the roadway and the motorcycle slid off the right side of the roadway and struck an embankment.

Hoffman was not wearing a helmet.

Assisting the Sheriff’s Office were the Ontario Ambulance, Ontario Fire Department, Hillsboro Ambulance and rangers from the Wildcat Mountain State Park.

The accident remains under investigation by the Sheriff’s Office.
