Park Apartments to unveil Kennedy Center

On Friday, Sept. 30, Neighborhood Housing Services of Richland County will host an open house of all offices from 11:30–1 p.m. and public viewing of the new President John F. Kennedy Community Building and Organizing Center on the first floor of the Park Hotel Apartments.

The JFK Center recently authorized by the NHS Board of Directors includes the NHS first floor suite of offices, including the NHS HomeOwnership Center, the Community

Room and the Executive Director’s offices.

NHS’s newest line of business is Community Building and Organizing providing select

neighborhood based leadership and community development through NeighborWorks

America funding and technical assistance. Park Hotel main entrance branding, signage and a historical photo montage of the JFK 1960 visit will be featured for public viewing. Special thanks to the Ben Koelsch family for providing the photo and history, which has

been in the family for years. Snacks and beverages will be served.

On Saturday, Oct. 1, The Park Apartments resident managers and residents will host an Open House from 10 a.m. until noon, with tours of apartments provided. Oakwood Orchard apples will be available on the historic porch of the Park Hotel with cheese,

cracker tray, fruit tray, cookies and coffee served. Waiting list applications will be available.

Fall decorations around the building will brighten the area and festivities.
