A Platteville native was killed in a head-on car crash near New Glarus Thursday afternoon.

Joshua A. Langkamp, 32, Dodgeville, was driving north on Wisconsin 69 when his car was hit head-on by a car driven by David L. Bridgeland, 23, Monroe, around 2:10 p.m., according to the Green County Sheriff’s Department.

According to the sheriff’s department, “multiple witnesses” saw Bridgeland’s car swerve across the center line before the crash.

The Green County coroner pronounced Langkamp and Bridgeland dead at the scene, according to the sheriff’s department.
Autopsies and toxicology tests are being done to determine possible medical issues or alcohol or narcotic use, according to the sheriff’s department.
