A PRODUCE DISTRIBUTION CENTER will be sponsored by Peace Lutheran Church in Readstown in partnership with Community Hunger Solutions. The project will be dedicated to increasing access to healthy food by providing food pantries with surplus fresh produce from local farms.

READSTOWN - The congregation of Peace Lutheran Church in Readstown is excited to be partnering with Community Hunger Solutions (CHS), a food distribution project dedicated to increasing access to healthy food by providing food pantries with surplus fresh produce from local farms.

Last year, Community Hunger Solutions distributed 350,000 pounds of produce in Vernon County; 13 pantries within 20 miles of Viroqua received regular deliveries from them.

This summer and fall, CHS will be delivering produce to Readstown for those who live in the community and surrounding area. Distribution of the free produce will take place at Peace Lutheran Church, 112 East Center Street, on Saturday afternoons from 1:30-3:30 p.m., beginning July 8. Please share this information with your neighbors – all are welcome to partake of the bounty!

Thank you to Community Hunger Solutions for their dedication to this important mission, to the local farmers who contribute produce, and to the members of Peace Lutheran Church and other community members who are assisting with this project. Please contact Jackie Getter at 637-3264 if you have any questions. For further information on CHS, visit their website: http://www.community-hunger-solutions.org/.
