Man arrested for discharge of pistol inside residence

BOSCOBEL - Boscobel police arrested a man, presumed drunk, who shot a .45 pistol through the wall into his neighbor’s apartment.

Police Chief Jaden McCullick said the incident took place on February 1 at about 11:39 p.m. in a duplex at 209 Park Street.

“Upon arrival, the officer determined Hans Weigel, age 39, discharged a .45 caliber handgun from inside his residence. The bullet travelled through the wall of his residence and into the adjoining duplex. The bullet was recovered,” McCullick reported.

Weigel was arrested and referred for charges of operating a firearm while intoxicated and second degree recklessly endangering safety. Weigel was taken to the Grant County Jail. Grant County Sheriffs office assisted in the arrest.

No one was injured in the incident.

McCullick reminds readers that all suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
