This car driven by Erik J. Wier, 19, Coal Valley, Ill., collided with a vehicle driven by Stephen E. Carden, 30, Rothschild, on U.S. 151 north of County XX Sunday around 4:55 p.m. Both cars were going southbound on 151 when the crash occurred. Wier was transported to Southwest Health by Southwest Health EMS with non-life-threatening injuries; Carden was not injured. Wier was cited for operating while intoxicated (restricted controlled substance-related). The crash is still under investigation. The Grant County Sheriff’s Office, UW–Platteville police and Platteville firefighers assisted at the scene. A second crash occurred on 151 north of the crash scene, though no one was injured.
