A group of motorcyclists leave Mineral Point on a motorcycle ride to benefit Crystal Banfield, who has stage 4 gall bladder cancer.

Friends of Crystal Banfield of Platteville organized a benefit motorcycle ride throughout southwest Wisconsin June 16.

Banfield, 43, has stage 4 gall bladder cancer and is beginning radiation treatment after having undergone several surgeries and chemotherapy. She and her husband, Steve, have three sons.

More than 200 people signed up for the benefit ride on 125 motorcycles and several other vehicles.

The ride included stops at Tony’s Tap in Mineral Point, Sheddy’s in Montfort, Home-A-Gins in Mount Hope, LuLu’s & Joby’s Pit Stop in Patch Grove, Yesterdaze in Beetown, Yoder’s in Rockville, and Denny’s Char Bar in Platteville.

More than $14,000 was raised for the benefit of the Banfield family.

The ride was organized by the Matador MCs motorcycle club. The Platteville Police Department provided assistance.
