Reuter appointed to state examining board
Gerri Reuter

Lancaster resident Gerri Reuter has been appointed to the State of Wisconsin Barber and Cosmetology Examining Board to serve a term ending July 1, 2015.  The Board develops and regulates legislation for the barbering and cosmetology industry including curriculum content; continuing education requirements; apprenticeship procedures and standards; examination topics; licensing requirements and renewals; professional conduct expectations; establishment and inspection requirements; and sanitation and safety regulations.
“I am looking forward to helping the cosmetology industry move forward by making positive changes that will help all licensees,” commented Reuter.  “I teach the State of Wisconsin Barber/Cosmetology Statutes and Rules and am honored to be a member of the Board that will impact schools, the workforce, and the future students of this industry.”
Reuter has held a Barber/Cosmetology license for 30 years, was an owner/operator of a salon, and has been teaching the Esthetician (Spa Services) program at Southwest Tech for 16 years.
“Gerri will make a great addition to the State Examining Board for Cosmetology,” complimented Southwest Tech President Dr. Duane Ford.  “Southwest Tech is proud that our instructors have extensive experience and engagement with local businesses, communities, committees, and in this case, state government. These activities make positive impacts on the communities in our College’s District.  And of equal importance, these industry feedback opportunities provide invaluable lessons and perspectives that make our instructors better teachers.”
