Three from North Crawford Girls Track advance to state

The North Crawford girls track team advanced three athletes to the state track meet this Friday and Saturday in LaCrosse—only the top four places advance out of the sectional meet.

The ahtletes advancing are Maggie Schellhorn, Martha Bransky, and Brianna Mack.

Bransky ran a great race in the 1600-meters, as she was second in 5:39.58—a career best. In the 3200 meters, she was ninth in 13:25.14.

 Schellhorn had a great night, as she pole-vaulted 9’ 3” placing her third.

Mack also had a good night as she took third place in the long jump with a 16’ 2” and in the triple jump she just missed advancing by 3.75’’ as she placed fifth with a 32’ 9.25”.

Other performances at the sectional meet included: the 4x100-meter relay team of Rebecca Spencer, Rachael Peterson, Brianna Mack, and Kari Sanchez, which took seventh place in a career best time of 53.86. The 4x200-meter relay team of Rebecca Spencer, Rachael Peterson, Laura Galvez, and Brianna Mack were tenth in 1:58.35.

Rebecca Spencer ran 13.94 in the 100 meters for 12th place—a personal record.

Marina Molto ran the 400 meters in 1:06.82 for 11th place and the 200 meters in 29.24 for 13th place.

Kylie Heisz was 13th in the 100-meter hurdles in 18.50 a PR for her. Rachael Peterson was 11th in the high jump with a 4’ 6” jump. Jasmine File threw the disc 66’ 5” for 16th.

The 4x800-meter realy eam of Nora O’Brien, Bernadette O’Brien, Katie Schellhorn, and Ashley Ingle were 15th in 12:41.
