A Viroqua teenager was injured Oct. 24 in a rollover off Hwy. 82 in Wheatland township.

According to the Vernon County Sheriff’s Office in Viroqua, 16-year-old Jonathan Haynes was driving east on Hwy. 82 near Blackhawk Ave. between DeSoto and Redmound when he lost control of his vehicle at 8:24 p.m. Haynes’ vehicle crossed the center line, struck a guardrail and went over an embankment. It then overturned and came to rest upright facing south.

Haynes, who was wearing a seatbelt, was transported to Gundersen Health Services by Tri-State Ambulance for non-life-threatening injuries.

Assisting at the scene were the Wheatland First Responders and the Wheatland Fire Department.

The accident remains under investigation.
