Ada Florence Rott, 87, of LaFarge, died Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2013 at the Bethel Home in Viroqua.

She was born Sept. 12, 1925 in Tomah, the daughter of Orlin ‘Happy’ and Ada (Coggan) Lawrence.  When Florence was still a young girl her mother died and lived with her grandparents Calvin and Naomi Lawrence in LaFarge.  On Nov. 20, 1947 she married Alfred Martin Rott in Yuba, and he preceded her in death on Aug. 31, 1977.  The couple lived on Chicken Hollow Road a few miles north of Yuba.  Over the years Florence spent many hours milking cows, raising pigs and chickens, and working in her big garden.  She also worked at Badger Ordinance of Baraboo, the Canning Factory in Hillsboro and Reedsburg, and the Hotel in Hillsboro.  Florence enjoyed playing bingo and cards and reading.  She loved her family very much.

Florence is survived by her four children: daughter, Evelyn Rott of Viroqua and her children: Rebecca (Rob) Jackson of Kendall, their children Russell, Randall, Martin (Valerie) Lowrey of Temple, TX, their children Caitlyn, Logan, Samantha (Alan) Erickson of Cashton, their children Shelbi, Alex, Darci;  daughter, Barbara Thayer of Hillsboro and her children: Danny (Jody) Thayer of Dane, their children David, Ashley, Chad (Amber) Thayer of Richland Center, their children Dilana, Devon, Allison (Josh) Clark of Cashton, their children Audrey, Lily;  daughter, Karen (Phil) Cutler of LaFarge and their children: Danielle (Kevin) Severson of LaCrosse, their children Dimitri, Karson,  Philip (Kim) Cutler of Fort Knox, KY and Afghanistan, their child Carlie,  Jolene (Jason) Williams of Oklahoma, their children Matt, Eric; son, Alfred (Karen) Rott of Monona and their children: Shane (Venita) Hoger of Madison, their children Katelin, Kaleb, Korey (Lauren) Hoger of Racine, their children Kaylahna, Kyler, Kaden, Kaleah, Ramira, Elise, Kate, Avery;  sister, Bertina Scheid of Junction City, WI; aunt, Bertha Kretche of Hillsboro, many other nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Florence was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Clyde Lawrence; and two sisters, Bernice Lawrence and Nellie Otterblad.

Funeral services were held on Sunday, Aug. 11, 2013 at 2  p.m. at the LaFarge Free Methodist Church with Pastor Mark Phillips officiating.  Burial will be held at the Hillsboro Cemetery at a later date.  Friends called at the LaFarge Free Methodist Church Aug. 11 from 12 p.m. until the time of the service at 2 p.m.  The Pratt Funeral and Cremation Service assisted the family with their arrangements.  Online condolences can be made at prattfuneralservice.com.
