    Arnold Edward Chambers, age 82, of Mineral Point, Wisconsin died Saturday, November 21, 2015 at Atrium Post Acute Care in Mineral Point.
    Arnold Chambers, the son of Leland and Clara (Weber) Chambers was born in Darlington, Wisconsin on November 11, 1933.  He graduated from Darlington High School in 1951.  After employment at Fisher Auto Body in Janesville, Arnold enlisted in the United States Air Force.  He attended the Army Language School at Monterey, California where he studied the Russian language.  From March of 1955 until December of 1957, he was stationed in Berlin, Germany behind the Iron Curtain.
    On March 1, 1958 he married Shirley Jones, daughter of Edwin and Hattie (Rain) Jones, at the Mineral Point United Methodist Church.  Together they had four sons: David, Daniel, Mark, and Paul.  They farmed for many years, moving to Mineral Point in 1989.  Arnold worked at Lands’ End and then as a postal carrier out of Madison.  He obtained his realtor license and up until his death was an agent working with the Potterton Rule team.  He also drove bus for the Hodan Center.  Arnold was a Trustee at the Methodist Church and the President of the Fayette Cemetery Association.  He served as the Secretary and Treasurer for the Masonic Temple Lodge #1.  He also was very involved in the VFW and American Legion.  As a tribute to our veterans, Arnold was instrumental in founding the Avenue of Flags memorial, beginning in 1996.  Arnold was a great dad and an incredible grandfather.
    Arnold is survived by his wife Shirley; his sons David, Daniel (Jodi), Mark (Pat Nicholls); his daughter-in-law Chausti Weinbrenner; his grandchildren Zachary (Tami) Chambers, Nathan (Brittany) Chambers, Evan, Sawyer, and Hannah Chambers, Melissa (Ryan) Schneider, Joshua (Carrie Leehan) Chambers, Blake, Addyson, and Eloise Chambers; his great-grandchildren Boden, Walker, Alaina, Bentley, Kinley, and Katie; his siblings Jean (Jim) Sterling, of Pottsboro, Texas, David J. (LaVon) Chambers and Marilyn Chambers, both of Darlington; his aunts Dorothy Weber and Emma Colbeck.
    Arnold was preceded in death by his parents and his son Paul Edward Chambers, killed in an auto accident, on January 27,2007.
    Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at FIRST UNITED METHODIST CHURCH in Mineral Point.  Rev. Gerhardt Miller will officiate.  Burial will be held in Graceland Cemetery with Military Graveside Rites accorded by the Mineral Point American Legion and VFW.  Visitation was from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday and from 10:00 a.m. until time of services on Wednesday at FIRST UNITED METHODIST CHURCH.  A Masonic Service was held at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the church, directed by the Mineral Point Masonic Lodge #1.
