Joyce Rae Lawrence, age 76, passed away on Aug. 24, 2013 at Vernon Memorial Hospital to be with her Lord and Savior.

Joyce was born in La Crosse, Wis., on Jan. 26, 1937, daughter of Temeron and Bessie Olson.  She was united in marriage on Dec. 29, 1956 to Lloyd Lawrence of La Farge, Wis.

Joyce worked many years as a CNA at Bethel Home in Viroqua. She was a caregiver at heart and always willing to lend a hand. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a life long member of  the La Farge Free Methodist Church and was active in WMI, along as serving as treasure, secretary and Sunday school teacher over the years. She was a member of Ladies Auxiliary serving our military service men and women. Joyce was an avid Packer fan and enjoyed flowers and gardening. She also enjoyed needlepoint and reading and especially to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She had a great love for Brach’s jellybeans.

Joyce is survived by her husband, Lloyd Lawrence; her four children, Steve (Leanne), Susan, Vickie (Mike Sosinsky), Tim (Alane); seven grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2013 at the La Farge Free Methodist Church.  Visitation was at the church on Tuesday, Aug. 27 and on Wednesday, Aug. 28.

The family would like to thank the staff at Vernon Memorial Hospital and the staff of Vernon Memorial Hospice for the care and support given to Joyce and her family.  The family would like to give a very special thank you to Pastor Mark Phillips, who has been our rock and support during this trying time. Thank you also for all the support and spiritual guidance that you have given mom over the years.
