Oswin Herman “Ossie” Tranel, 88, of  rural Cuba City, died on Sunday, May 5 at Mercy Medical Center in Dubuque.

Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 8, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Sinsinawa, with his grandson, the Rev. Bart Timmerman, presiding and Ossie’s son, Deacon Larry Tranel, officiating. Rev. Lance Schneider, Rev. Randy Timmerman, Rev. Chad Droessler and other brother priests and deacons will be assisting. Burial will be in the church cemetery.  Friends called from 2 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday at Casey Funeral Home in Cuba City, with a parish rosary at 2 p.m. Friends may also call from 9–10 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home before the service.
