Richard P. Sieverding, 80, of Dubuque, Iowa, and formerly of Shullsburg, passed away Friday, Jan. 3, 2014 at Dubuque Nursing and Rehab. Richard was born August 7, 1933 in Rochester, Minn., the son of John and Mildred (Chilson) Sieverding.
Mass was at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2014, at Church of the Nativity, where the rosary was recited at 10:00 a.m. Rev. Scott Bullock officiated. Interment was in the Resurrection Garden Mausoleum, Mount Calvary Cemetery. Military Honors were accorded by the American Legion Post #6. Friends greeted the family from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 6, at Hoffmann Schneider & Kitchen Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 3860 Asbury Rd., where there was a prayer service at 6:30 p.m. by Sr. Margaret Ann Kramer PBVM.
Memorials may be made to the Richard Sieverding Memorial Fund for later donation to Hospice of Dubuque and the Alzheimer’s Association.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Hospice of Dubuque, the staff at Dubuque Nursing and Rehab, Dr. Caceres and his nurse Jackie, and to Richard’s brother-in-law, Bob Kramer, for his extra special visits and their special hot dog trips to the Grand Tap.
