Junior John Drefcinski went 2-for-3 with a double and a run scored at the plate and struck out three and earned the five-inning complete game victory on the mound in Friday's 3–2, 5–4 sweep at Pecatonica in a Dane County Babe Ruth League South Division doubleheader.

Garrett Baxter, Sr., P/1B, Platteville Babe Ruth Baseball

   Senior Garrett Baxter (1–0) went the distance allowing two unearned runs on four hits and two walks to earn the win in the Platteville Merchants U18 Babe Ruth summer baseball team's 3–2 victory Game 1 victory at Pecatonica last Friday. He struck out seven in five innings and also walked and scored on an errant pickoff throw in the top of the fourth inning to break a scoreless tie. Baxter also went 1-for-3 with a pair of RBIs in Platteville's (2–2) 5–4 walkoff victory in the nightcap. Baxter was involved in the game-winning play; he reached on a dropped third strike with two outs in the bottom of the fifth allowing sophomore Isaac Coyier to score the game-winning run. 


John Drefcinski, Jr., P/OF, Platteville Babe Ruth Baseball

   Junior John Drefcinski picked up a complete game win in Platteville's wild 5–4 victory at Pecatoncia in the second game of a South Division Dane County Babe Ruth league doubleheader last Friday night. Drefcinski allowed four runs, two earned, on four hits in five innings. He struck out three and didn't allow a walk. He also aided his own cause going 2-for-3 at the plate with a double and a run scored. Drefcinski also had a two-run double in Platteville's 5–2 loss in game two a its summer-opening doubleheader at Dodgeville last Wednesday night. Drefcinski finished last week 3-for-10 with two doubles, two RBI and a run scored.
