Platteville sophomore Wyatt Heer won the All-Around Cowboy title at Saturday's Lancaster Regional High School Rodeo. He teamed with Mondovi's Trent Parr to win the team roping competition and placed fourth in the tie-down calf roping event.

Wyatt Heer, So., Platteville High School, rodeo

LANCASTER — Platteville sophomore Wyatt Heer won the All-Around Cowboy title at last Saturday's Lancaster Regional High School Rodeo and is this week's Mast Water Technology Co-Athlete of the Week. Heer teamed up with Mondovi's Trent Parr to win the team roping event with a two-steer combined time of 29.14 seconds. Heer and Parr were the only tandem to rope their steer in both go-rounds at the one-day only rodeo that began at 9 a.m. and didn't finish until 11 p.m. Heer also placed fourth in the tie-down calfroping event with a combined time of 39.885 seconds. 

Previously, Heer and Parr won the team roping at the season-opening Medford Regional Rodeo Aug. 8–9, while Heer finished third in tie-down roping. The fall high school rodeo season will continue this weekend in Holmen before concluding in Manawa Sept. 19–20.


BriannaKirsch, Fr., Lancaster girls golf

DARLINGTON — Lancaster freshman Brianna Kirsch shot a nine-over-par round of 44 to win medalist honors in her first high school golf meet at last Friday's season-opening Darlington SWC mini meet. Kirsch edged out Wisconsin Dells' Gracie Walker (45) and senior teammate Morgan Cooley (48) to win the individual title. 

Kirsch and Cooley also helped Lancaster (203) placed second at the five-team meet behind team champion Wisconsin Dells (194). Southwestern/Cuba City/Benton (209), Darlington (216) and Prairie du Chien (280) finished third, fourth and fifth. The Flying Arrows will return to action today at Wisconsin Dells' Trappers Turn Golf Course, before hosting an SWC mini meet Tuesday at home on the Lancaster Municipal Golf Course. Both meets begin at 4 p.m.
