CUBA CITY — The Annual Women’s Southwestern Wisconsin and Northern Illinois (SWANI) golf outing was held at Cole Acres Golf Course on Sunday.
The five-person team tournament consisted of eight teams from surrounding golf courses, including host Cole Acres, Darlington Golf Course, Dodge–Point Country Club, Galena Golf Course, Fennimore’s Hickory Grove Golf Course, Lancaster Golf Course, Platteville Golf and Country Club, and the Prairie du Chien Country Club.
Each club team was made up of five players and they were seeded according to their 9-hole handicap from their perspective club.
Cole Acres hosted with rolls and coffee to start the women off and finished with lunch.
The Hickory Grove team of Darcy Prohaska, Ann Walker, Kristi Lenz, Abbey Goodman and Robin Lenz won the tournament with 67 points, followed by Dodge–Point (59) and Cuba City (47).
Dodge–Point’s Brenda Blackford was the overall medalist with a 77 and also won first place in Position 1.
Lancaster’s Sarah Williams, shot an 85 to win Position 2, while Prohaska from Hickory Grove shot an 85 to win Position 3. Hickory Grove also won Positions 4 and 5 with Goodman shooting an 86 in Position 4, while Position 5 was won by Lenz with a 79.
The Platteville Golf and Country Club team participants were Audrey Caygill in Position 1, Connie Gibson in Position 2, Sandy Olthafer in Position 3, Patti Noel in Position 4, and Kathy Eddy in Position 5. Platteville finished fifth.
