Hillsboro Orioles split games in baseball tourney
Youth team falls to Richland Center in opener, beats Iowa-Grant

The Hillsboro Orioles Youth Baseball Program hosted a 12U three team round robin tournament June 29 at Firemen’s Park.

The Orioles opened play against the Richland Center Hornets.  The Hornets pitched well and had timely hitting in the contest.  The Orioles played a very good game but came up short in the end by the score of 3 - 2.

The leading hitters for the Orioles were Trent Thorson (2-for-2) and Cade Jensen (2-for-3).

The Orioles played the Iowa-Grant Panthers in the last game.  Both teams played very well but the Orioles were victorious, 4 - 3.  The leading hitters were Thorson and Dylan Hill, who both went (2-for-2). Hill also hit  a triple.

Even with rainy conditions, the games were completed.
