Aug. 28
On Monday night, the Men’s golf league enjoyed their traditional season ending steak and sweet corn feed following a team scramble tournament. There was a lot of hooting and hollering heard throughout the course as birdies were made and poor shots were laughed at.
When all the scores were tallied up, Wagner Pest Control and The New Guys tied for first place with identical scores of 29 with identical handicaps.
Avon Locker was close behind as they fired the best round of the night with a 28, including five birdies and an eagle on #2. Hotshots continued steady play with a fourth-place finish.
Flag prizes were won by: Legends II with a nice tee shot on #1, Avon Locker with a long drive on #2, Wagner’s with a close tee shot on #5, Avon Locker with another long drive on #7, My Turn Pub with a long putt on #8 and TriCom with a long putt on #9.
Avon Locker captured the Eagle pot on #2.
The first-half winner, DDS, squared off against the second-half winners, Hotshots, for the overall championship and The Hotshots came out ahead by a slim margin.
A shout out goes to Lee, Kyle and the league committee of Don Hastert, Bill Tuescher and Tom Jean for another successful and enjoyable season.
There is still time to enjoy the best part of the year and get in a few more rounds of golf, so get out and enjoy the fall season.
