Hillsboro track teams gear up for postseason at Sparky Reynolds Invite

BOSCOBEL — The Hillsboro track and field teams closed out the regular season Friday at the Boscobel Sparky Reynolds Invitational.

The boys scored three points and finished in a tie for 20th place at the 22-team event. The Lady Tigers did not score.
Cuba City won the boys title holding off Dodgeville/Mineral Point 95.33–69. Dodge–Point returned the favor in the girls’ competition, outscoring the Cubans 83.5–72 for the girls’ title.

Junior Ean Levy scored two points with a seventh-place finish in the discus with a throw of 113’5”.
Hillsboro’s 4x800 relay team of Skyler Fisher, Adrian Marquez, Zach O’Hair and Jacob Urban scored the other point with an eighth-place finish in 4:00.6. Fisher, Marquez, O’Hair and Dakota Wells placed ninth in the 4x800 relay (9:17.24).

Marquez turned in the team’s top individual performance other than Levy, with an 11th-place showing in the 800 (2:16.29).

The Hillsboro girls 4x800 relay team of Destiny Shore, Paige Stull, Carly Krajco abd Breanna Beaver finished ninth at 11:49.37.

The Hillsboro girls 4x400 relay of Thornsen, Jaline Attignol, Belinda Griffin and Shore placed 10th (4:53.24).
Griffin in the 200 (30.14), Kaley Preuss in the 100 hurdles (20.53), and Huntley in the discus (86’3”) each finished 11th in their respective events.

The Tigers returned to action Tuesday at the Scenic Bluffs Conference action Tuesday at Cashton. The meet took place after press time and results will be in next week’s Sentry Enterprise.

Hillsboro will next turn its attention to the WIAA series, as the Tigers travel to the WIAA Division 3 Onalaska Luther Regional on Monday afternoon.

The top four finishers in each event will advance to next Thursday’s D3 Bangor Sectional.
