Tigers roar past Kickapoo
Max Stockwell scores a game-high 21 points, grabs four rebounds

Sophomore Max Stockwell scored a game-high 21 points and grabbed four rebounds to lead Hillsboro to a 62–41 non-conference victory over visiting Kickapoo Monday night.

Hillsboro jumped out to a 21–7 first-quarter lead and never trailed in the game despite shooting just 12 of 28 from the free throw line (43 percent).

The Tigers did shot 49 percent (24 of 49) from the field, while holding the Predators to 32 percent (15 of 47) from the field.

Stockwell did most of his damage in the paint converting on 8 of his 13 shot attempts inside of four feet. He also went 0 of 2 from 3-point land and 5 of 10 from the free throw line.

Senior guard Brandon Stanek added 11 points on 5 of 7 shooting and a team-high seven rebounds.

Junior forward Avery Rueckhiem added eight points and five rebounds.

Hillsboro improved to 8–2 overall with the win, while Kickapoo fell to 3–9.

The Tigers traveled to Brookwood (2–6, 2–2 SBC) this past Tuesday night in a make-up game from Friday night. Next they host Wonewoc–Center on Thursday before traveling to Royall (4–5, 3–2) Tuesday.
