Bulldog harriers set records at home relays

BOSCOBEL - The Bulldog track and field teams ran back-to-back meets after a week of practice and no meets, hosting the Bulldog Relays Monday evening and heading to Fennimore on Tuesday.

On the home track

The Bulldog Relays saw the boys’ team earning first place and the girls’ team taking third.

First place finishes were awarded to the boys’ 4x400-meter relay team of Brandon Mindham, Seth Laxton, Cauy Isaacson, and Chase Kull who finished in a time of 3:40.46; the boys’ 4x800-meter relay team of Noah Toye, Jack Latham, Kyle Wetter, and Britan Waterman who finished in a time of 9:24.99; the girls’ 4x800-meter relay team of Mackenzie Kauffman, Rachel Davis, Abbey Manning, and Faith Glasbrenner with 11:07.26; the boys’ 4x1,600-meter relay team of Noah Toye, Jack Latham, Dakota Kauffman, and Jordan Molzof who finished in a time of 20:12.58; the girls’ 4x1,600-meter relay team of Mackenzie Kauffman, Rachel Davis, Abbey Manning, and Molly Pegram in 25:23.58; the boys’ distance medley 8-4-4-16 team of Jordan Molzoff, Brandon Mindham, Chase Kull, and Dakota Kauffman in 8:18.91; and the girls’ distance medley 8-4-4-16 team of Sydney Haines, Casey Ostheimer, Erin Beck, and Molly Pegram in 11:21.98

The 800-meter sprint medley 1-1-2-4 team of Cauy Isaacson, Hunter Drake, Seth Laxton, and Cole Couey took third place with 1:42.9. Also earning third place finishes were the boys’ 4x220-meter shuttle hurdle team of Gavin Bell, Ryan Latham, Cole Couey, and Addington Edgington in 1:01.49; and the girls’ 4x400 meter relay team of Casey Ostheimer, Erin Beck, Sydney Haines, and Leah Bloedow with a time of 4:42.46.

Grace Roth took third in the girls’ shot put with 30’2” and fourth place in the discus with 94’11”.

The Bulldogs boys 4x100 -meter relay team – Hunter Drake, Hali Cook, Cauy Isaacson, and Tommy Monroe – took fourth place with a time of 48.11 Boscobel also took fourth in the 4x200 meter relay in 1:47.23 with the team of Tanner Bassett-Bird, Hali Cook, Dakota Frasier, and Cole Couey.

Tanner Bassett-Bird took fourth place in the boys’ pole vault relay with a final jump height of 9’6”, followed by Dakota Frasier in fifth with 9’.

Hali Cook placed fourth in the long jump with 17’11”. He was followed by Hunter Drake in seventh place with 17’4” and Tommy Monroe with 16’9”.

Wyatt Roth made a strong throwing show, earning third place with the boys’ shot put at 41’9.35”. He was followed by Ethan Lucas in fourth with 37’4.5” and Gavin Bell in eighth with 34’10”. Roth also took eighth in the boys’ discus with 110’4”.

Hallie Bell placed fifth in the girls’ pole vault with 6’6”.

Ryan Latham placed sixth in the boys’ 300-meter hurdles relay with a time of 48.25, followed by Tommy Monroe, who placed eighth, and Gavin Bell at 10th.

The girls’ 4x200 meter relay took seventh place with the team of Mallory Knoble, Michelle Junele, Hallie Christianson, and Leah Bloedow finishing in 2:12.86. Also finishing in seventh was the girls’ 800-meter sprint medley 1-1-2-4 team of Belen Santefe, Casey Ostheimer, Erin Beck, and Michelle Junele with 2:17.93

Erin Beck took seventh place in the girls’ high jump with 4’6”.

“What a great night for track this past Monday night for the 19th Annual Bulldog Relays,” said BAS Activities Director Joey Martin. “Some records went down at this meet which include the following: Kenny Spencer, Skylar Olson, and Brady Allbaugh from North Crawford set a new record in the triple jump relay with a combined distance of 120-04.5. Previous record set by a team From Fennimore in 2004 - team consisting of Brandon Hertrampf, Andy Jackson, and Billy Lease with combined jumps of 118-02.75.

“Also, the girls 4x200 meter relay record was broken by Benton-Scales Mound-Shullsburg’s Payton Bastian, Ally Jansen, Paige Murphy, and Linsey Walton with a time of 1:51.92. Previous record set back in 2000 by a team from River Ridge consisting of Maggie Laufenberg, Missy Morovits, Jakie Breuer, and Sarah Parkins with a time of 1:55.41.

“Lastly, the boys distance medley relay record was broken. This record was set in 2005 by a team from Boscobel consisting of Zeke Reynolds, Adam Green, Andy Watters, and Justin Dull. New record set this year, 2016, by a team from Boscobel consisting of Jordan Molzolf, Brandon Mindham, Chase Kull, and Dakota Kauffman with a new record time of 8:19.91.”

The Bulldogs travel to Cuba City today (Thursday) with the meet starting at 4 p.m. Boscobel then heads to Fennimore on Monday with competition starting at 3:45 p.m.
