BOSCOBEL – Who would have thought after losing three crucial seniors from last year’s state championship squad, that this year’s Lancaster girls’ cross country team would be making a return trip to the WIAA State Meet in Wisconsin Rapids?
That’s exactly where the Flying Arrows are headed this Saturday, after finishing first of 16 teams at last Saturday’s Division 3 Boscobel Sectional.
Coach Taylor Reynolds’ squad finished Saturday’s sectional meet three points ahead of second-place Darlington with 80 points, while Boscobel finished third with 95, Poynette fourth with 105 and Albany fifth with 116. All five teams came into Saturday’s sectional meet ranked among the state’s best by the Wisconsin Cross Country Coaches Association, with the Arrows ranked fourth.
With the top two teams advancing to this Saturday’s state meet, this year’s team has picked up right where last year’s squad has left off.
