PLATTEVILLE — Mount Horeb had the size advantage and the best player, but Platteville again proved it had the better team.

Coach Danielle Duerst’s Hillmen got over the regional final hump by defeating fourth-seeded Mount Horeb and 6’4” D1 Kentucky recruit Elise Goetzinger for the fourth time this season (25–14, 25–18, 22–25, 25–16) to win a WIAA Division 2 regional title Saturday night at PHS.

Platteville (35–6) will now host No. 2 seed McFarland (34–3) in a D2 sectional semifinal Thursday at 7 p.m. at Platteville High School.
