Students from the area receive UW-Stout scholarships

MENOMONIE—Scholarships valued at more than $675,000 were awarded to 375 University of Wisconsin-Stout students this year through the Stout University Foundation at a reception on campus Sept. 11. Many of the scholarship donors and members of the board of directors personally presented the awards.
Saige Bierman of Cassville, received the Sentry Insurance Foundation Student Leadership Scholarship. Bierman is majoring in business administration.
Logan Kartman of Cassville, received the Sentry Insurance Foundation Student Leadership Scholarship. Kartman is majoring in applied mathematics and computer science.
Established in 1962, the Stout University Foundation Scholarship Program has helped more than 8,000 students receive a college education. Through the financial support of alumni, parents, faculty, staff and friends of the university the program has awarded more than $10 million over the years.
UW-Stout, Wisconsin’s Polytechnic University, has more than 9,300 students in 45 undergraduate majors and 23 graduate majors, including one doctoral degree. UW-Stout, established in 1891, prides itself on the success of its students in the workplace, with a graduate employment rate at or above 97 percent for recent graduates. The university was awarded the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality award in 2001.
