Students to be recognized at UW-R

Convocation, the beginning-of-academic-year event that honors student success, is scheduled for 12noon-1pm Friday, Sept. 5 in the Coppertop Theatre on campus. Student achievers will be acknowledged, faculty and staff introduced, and the assembly will hear from 2013 UW-Richland Outstanding Alumni award winner Kevin Hauser, member of the UW-Richland Class of 1987 and president of the Westby Coop Credit Union. Hauser plans comments entitled “Welcome, Exponentially,” to tell his own UW-Richland story and look at how the campus engages people of all ages.
UW-Richland CEO/Dean Dr. Patrick Hagen will introduce UW-Richland’s new international students. New freshmen and continuing students honored with UW-Richland Scholarship Program awards will be introduced. Students who earned Dean’s List honors last spring will be recognized. Students whose exemplary coursework from the past year was chosen for publication in Quintessence 2014, a publication to honor achievers and provide models of excellence to new students, will be recognized. UW-Richland students who work is included in Quintessence 2014 are:
