New DHS principal announced

The contract for the new Darlington High School (DHS) principal was approved during the last regular meeting of the Darlington Community School Board.
    Aaron Lancaster, who currently serves as the middle and high school principal for the Pecatonica Area School District, was selected to fill the post of DHS principal. Lancaster was first offered the position on April 13, and the contract was approved on Monday, April 20.
    A Darlington alumni himself, Lancaster said he knows first hand what the district stands for when it comes to educational excellence.
    “Students have excellent opportunities to pursue in the Darlington district, and I look forward to being a part of continuing those opportunities and hopefully growing even more,” said Lancaster.
    After DHS, Lancaster furthered his education at UW-Platteville, pursuing an undergraduate degree in Broadfield Social Sciences and then a master’s degree in counselor education. He also received his certification in Educational Administration from UW-Platteville.
    Lancaster said he is humbled to have the opportunity to be the new DHS principal, and is most looking forward to working with the people within the district.
    “I have had the opportunity  to work in a couple of wonderful districts, and I know that Darlington will be another great place to be,” said Lancaster. “I look forward to the opportunity to work with the great staff, students, and families of the Darlington School District.”

Lancaster currently resides in Dodgeville with his wife, Denise and their three children, although the family is currently looking to relocate to the Darlington area.
