The 2016 Platteville High School Scholarship Fund Auction will be held at the UW–Platteville Ullsvik Hall Velzy Commons Saturday, Feb. 13.

Cocktail hour will begin at 4:30 p.m., with dinner at 6 p.m. and the auction beginning at 7 p.m.

This event help raise funds to provide scholarships to Platteville High School students who are pursuing additional educational opportunities beyond high school. Last year’s event raised more than $25,000, some of which went to 2015 graduates, with the remainder going into the endowment fund for future graduates.

“The packages this year are incredible,” said cochair Angie Donovan. “We are so fortunate to have such supportive businesses and individuals in our community. “There is something for everyone between the live and silent auction.”

Items available for bid include an autographed Green Bay Packers football, a week’s stay in a three-bedroom condo in Orlando, homemade bread, a quilt, and gift certificates to many local businesses.

Tickets for the event are on a first-come first-served basis and are $25 each or $250 for a table of eight. Tickets are for sale at Benvenuto’s, Driftless Market, or Tricor Insurance.  Tickets may be ordered by calling 732-4297. The final order date for tickets is Feb. 5. Everyone is welcome to purchase a ticket regardless of whether or not you have a student enrolled at Platteville High School.

The funds raised at this event will help fund college for not only this year’s graduating seniors, but students for decades to come. More details are available on the PHS Scholarship Fund Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/events/1465993417043467/.
