Platteville hires more teachers, high school athletic director

The Platteville School Board approved filling its remaining principal position and several teacher position vacancies Monday night.

The School Board approved hiring Eric Newton as the high school assistant principal and athletic director. Newton, a UW–Platteville graduate, taught in Brodhead, and was a physical education teacher and athletic director at an American school in Germany.

The board also hired Jordan Roupp as a special education teacher at Neal Wilkins Early Learning Center, Joseph Terrill as an elementary physical education teacher, and River Ridge teacher Rachele Breuer as an elementary special education teacher. Breuer replaces Yvette Marshall, who is leaving for an elementary-school principal position in northern Wisconsin.

The board also voted to hire Riverdale teacher Rachel Keleher as an English teacher at Platteville High School.
