PMS music students audition for state groups
PMS state music audition
Platteville Middle School state audition students include (front, from left) Abigail Sasse, Emma Opgenorth, Ellie Sasse, Chloe Mellody, Walter Schwickrath, (middle row) Anna Gates, Melanie Wood, Brenna Johnson, Ashlyn Moon, Lydia Hartley, (back) Alexis Thompson, Haley Buchholtz, Annabelle Etukudo, Emily Pitzer, Jocelyn Gile, Dylan Prestegard, and Shelby Faherty.

Every year thousands of highly talented middle school musicians audition for select positions in the Wisconsin Middle Level Honors Band, Choir, and Orchestra.

The audition material is extremely demanding and requires many hours of preparation. Only 300 of Wisconsin’s best young musicians are selected to participate in the Honors groups.

On April 1, 18 music students from Platteville Middle School traveled to La Crosse to audition.

Those selected for the Honors Band, Choir and Orchestra will perform as part of the Wisconsin State Music Conference, at the Waunakee High School Performing Arts Center Oct. 29.
