This Saturday, Sept. 20, promises to be a great one for those who love local veggies and fruit, pizza, kettlecorn, Amish quilts and crafts, and “the road less traveled.”  Come to Sugar Creek Park, Ferryville for Fall Fest and Market in the Park, which will be open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Ferryville Vision and Promotion Board, a community organization of Ferryville, is the organizer once again for this popular fall event and puts out the welcome mat for all of our guests, both local and those who have traveled a distance.

Revel in the choice of farmer’s market items, fall produce such as raspberries, garden produce in abundance, apples and wonderful other fall items.  Don’t miss the Amish aprons, rugs, baskets, crafts, baked goods like maple-glazed donuts, fruit pies, granola, cookies and hot pepper jam (great for a Badger or Packer Tailgate).  Another local vendor, Robert Jelinek, will be selling his 2014 season maple syrup so get some while supplies last.

What else will you see?  How about the artistry of Larry Gehl, a local and award-winning woodcraft artist?  He is back this year and you will love him.   His woodturnings which include bowls and other pieces really have to be seen for you to fully appreciate how magnificent his work is.  This is not to be missed so get here early.  Other artists include jewelry art and textile arts.  These are just a few and there are more that will delight our visitors.  Freeman Lutheran Church is at the park with a great bake sale and we know “the church ladies” really know how to make pies, bake most anything.

Richard Bouchette is back with his lip-smacking good kettlecorn.  The Italian Pizza Guys are here again with their homemade pizza made on site in the wood fired oven.

Tim Bohenkamp and his jiving guitar are also back by popular demand for music this year. Tim is known for doing amazing songs to keep your toes tapping.  He entertains from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday at the Sugar Creek Park for your listening pleasure and is sponsored by the Wooden Nickel Saloon, which is located in downtown Ferryville!

Enjoy a wonderful early fall day in Wisconsin and travel to Sugar Creek Park in Ferryville on Highway 35, our Wisconsin Great River Road National Scenic Byway.  This is a great time to visit.
